Our Story: Who are we?

Who are we? What do we do? Why do we do it? For whom do we do it?

These cardinal questions are questions that constantly bug our minds and questions which one must reflect upon. The Latin maxim te ipsum novi hominem translates to man know thyself and credited to Socrates. To truly be of service to humanity, one must understand himself, one must be self-aware. In essence one must answer the cardinal questions above. The Chicken Universe is a brand that is designed to be ours as the human race, we must own it, personalize it and live it.

Hence, we should understand our brand, what is stands for and be self-aware of ourselves as a brand. Today we answer, Who are we?

Who are we?

Our Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technical Manager is Golden Ogbeka. In the very words of our amiable CEO/CTO, The Chicken Universe is the only vision he sees, he desires nothing more than to impart the lives of other people; and his medium of doing this is our beautiful brand. We are a brand that makes impact and adds value to the life of individuals, businesses and other brands. Our brand is a culture built with love, with people at its center and a focus on bringing food to the entire world in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 2- Zero Hunger

Our Operations Officer is Esther Likita. She has an amicable personality, passionate and dedicated to showing love to all through our brand. Our brand offers a product known as The Chicken Farm. It is an online marketplace where with one account you can buy, sell and/or distribute anything that concerns Chickens

Our Online Marketer (Twitter) is Somtochukwu Azi. So when you engage with our platform on Twitter, you are most likely engaging with him. Somtochukwu wants us all to remember that The Chicken Universe through its product(s) adds value by making it not only easy for you to find chicken and chicken products with comfort and ease but it also allows you to find and reach your target market with ease and comfort.

Natasha Anucha, a Marketer on the team says The Chicken Universe as a brand is a blessing to us all, it provides the first choice for all things chicken, easing our stress, and reducing travel time and the cost of doing business. The brand makes is ours and let's own it.

Muhammad Hassan is the brands Digital Media Manager, He is there to make your interaction with the platform and on the platform stress free, tackle your tough questions and help you to resolve all issues you might encounter. He sees the brand as playing a similar role just on a larger front. The brand solves our problems by eliminating stress from our transactions and provides a one-stop destination for all chicken related events.

Uchenna Urom manages our brand image. The image of the brand we envision is carried in how he presents the brand. The brand is for all of us, irrespective of race, religion, tribe or gender. The brand cannot live without us and we cannot have a better system without the brand. We collectively have paid too high a price for quality food and poultry we can change that collectively because we finally have the one spot, where we can find all we want in relation to chickens in one spot. The entire value chain from sourcing feeds, equipment and other inputs, through the farms, consultancy, to the consumers all on a single platform, The Chicken Farm.

Our love for humanity as a brand radiates through out what we do, when we interact with you through various media. Today we want you to know that while you entrust us as a team with keeping the brand alive, we all make up this brand, the team is not the brand, we all are. Let's live it...

Smallholders in The Chicken Universe

A farmer community holds a lot of advantages for smallholders. Let’s tell a story to illustrate this: If Obinna has poultry that has 100 chickens, Iya Taiwo has poultry of 300 chickens and Mallam Usman has poultry of 50 Turkeys. They all need to buy feed, medicines and to ensure that their birds grow well, they also will require the services of a vet who will charge each of them separately. They all want to expand but cannot gain money for expansion from the banks because the banks think each of them poses too much risk. This is the typical storyline of most smallholder poultry farmers in Nigeria. Whereas each of the above can continue to look for ways to break out of the cycle individually, it would be a lot easier to pull their resources together and purchase feed in bulk and take advantage of the reduced cost of bulk purchase, hire the vet as one front and pay a single fee instead of three different fees, transport their products to the market as one and pay a shar...
